So how does this thing work?
Commercial
The production of a commercial consists basically of three separate stages: pre-production, production and post-production. Here, we’ll describe what happens during these three stages.
Stage 1: Pre-production
Intake
We start off with an intake interview in which we review what exactly it is you want: What is the message you wish to convey and in what manner, what is your intended audience like, exactly and which tv-channels do you have in mind? Based on this interview we make you a proposition based upon which you will decide whether or not you will produce your ideal commercial with us.
Brainstorming
The first step, then, is to call one or a number of brainstorm sessions, together with our creative team, in which we determine what emotion we will address and how to get our message across as clearly as we may. These sessions could possibly be supported by the eight ConsumerWorlds© of BLOOM©, which is the perfect agency for strategic marketing innovation. Together, we brainstorm about the content of the tv-commercial, which style we will apply, whatever your wishes may be regarding a possible voice-over, music, etc. In short: together we create a concept, also and better known as a scenario.
Script and location
We distill the essence from the brainstorm sessions and pour it into a script that you will receive for reviewing. After a ‘go’from your side, we’ll visit the location or find sites that may or may not yet be fully explored. It could well be that the shooting will take place within a studio. This is something we determine collaboratively. If necessary, we produce storyboards, or drawn-out scenes, that will give an impression of what the commercial will look like when finished.
Shotlist und Breakdown-Analyse
Based on the approved script we construct a shotlist and a breakdown analysis. This basically means that we determine how to fill up the time we have for shooting as efficiently as possible, incorporating possible external factors. We assemble the production-team, if necessary we book actors and extras, and we arrange the necessary materials and possibly props, as well.
Callsheet
Before the filming takes place, we send out a callsheet so that everybody involved knows where they will need to be present at the shooting, and when.
Stage 2: Production
During this stage the actual filming on location with the crew takes place.
Stage 3: Post-production
Next, we load up all our footage, and begin the pre-editing, The crude material is being ‘cut’, we add music and voice-over, and make a first draft of the commercial. In between, we’ll show you a crude edited draft so that we may decide whether the commercial conveys the right message and style. Ultimately, we deliver the commercial in the format the tv-company requires. This is usually DVC Pro, DigiBeta, or Betacam. You’ll receive the commercial as an internet-file for use on your site, as well.
We would like to make you a fan as well!
