How does this thing work...?
Event flick

Sooooo... you want to use the moving pictures to add some schwing to your event. An opening-trailer at a congress that’ll blow them all to smithereens, a film you could loop-playback in your stand on a convention, mugshoots from candidates in an election, atmosphere-enhancing images to add to the right mood in your stand or seminar, a report of your event on a DVD, or just an exciting review of your company’s umpteenth anniversary. Whatever you seek, producing an event-film consists of three important stages: pre-production, production and post-production.


Stage 1: Pre-production

Intake
It all begins, of course, by determining what it is, exactly, that you want. What is your exact aim with this film? What will you use it for? To whom do you reach out? Is there a lot of environmental noise in the place your movie will be shown? Do you wish to use a voice-over or presenter, or simply just music? Should it be a fast, modern impression, or do you actually want to tell something with this film? What should your audience take with them after having seen your film? What approximate wishes do you have regarding content and style? All of the questions above are relevant in an intake-interview.

Script, shotlist and voice-over
We transform the concept to a proposition. Based on this, you decide whether you will work with us. If so, we generate a script. Together with you we finalize this all into a final version. From this final version we deduce a shotlist, which tells exactly what it is we’ll be filming. In case you want to use a voice-over, you will have notified us in the intake whether you will want us to write it, or for you to deliver it.

The Breakdown-business
After all this, we construct a breakdown analysis. This basically means that we determine how to fill up the time we have for shooting as efficiently as possible, incorporating possible external factors. We assemble the production-team, if necessary we book actors and extras, pay a visit to the location(s) to determine where we are going to film what, and we arrange the necessary materials and possibly props, as well.

Callsheet
We make a callsheet and send this to our crew and everyone else involved. This document states clearly and precisely who should be when and where at what time at the shoot.

Stage 2: Production
During this stage the actual filming on location with the crew takes place.

Stage 3: Post-production
The stage of post-production includes everything that has anything to do with editing. We start the preliminary editing: we ‘cut’ the raw footage ‘clean’ and put it all in the right order. We add the music upon which the images are edited. We insert the voice-over and fabricate a rough draft in between. This will instantly tell you whether the film conveys the right message in the right style. We edit the audio and finalize editing. We deliver your event flick or convention trailer officially on a master-DVD. If wanted, we’ll manage reproduction, as well.
