AFM

The Netherlands’ Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten – AFM) is the independent supervisory authority for the financial markets. This means that the AFM supervises the operations of the total financial sector: savings, lending, investment and insurance markets. With this supervision, the AFM aims to make a contribution to the efficient operation of the financial markets. The proper operation of the financial markets is a public concern. The general public, trade and industry, and the government are largely dependent of financial products offered in the financial markets for various activities.
Confidence in the fair and orderly operation of these markets is vital. That’s why it is of great importance that there be supervision over the proper workings of these markets.

AL GORE-ISH FLICKS FOR EVENT
Commissioned by AFM, Four Corners developed an opening film for the AFM ‘Buitendag’ that shook the audience. The film displays a doom-scenario in which the importance of the role of the consumer on the financial market becomes clear in a day. Four Corners also produced the end-film with which the day was closed in a merry way. Both films were received raving.
“Brilliant!”, said Hindriks. The opening-film was based on the global warming-film by Al Gore, An Inconvenient Truth. “Both films reaped the exact effect we were after. The opening flick kicked off a discussion, led by Astrid Joosten with side-kick former minister of finance Gerrit Zalm. And the end-film, in which our current chairmain of the BoD, Arthur Docters van Leeuwen played a prominent part, received a lot of laughs. That was exactly what we intended.” The event was considered the best, yet. “The two films that Four Corners developed have made an important contribution to this success.”
