In 1987 Martha Ospina and Tiemen Venema introduced Parchment Craft in The Netherlands. Because the required materials for the craft were not available, they started to develop and produce the Parchment craft tools themselves. In 1988 they founded the company Marjo-Arte and introduced the world famous fan for the Pergamano® brand. When the craft was demonstrated on Dutch television the craft got known within in a second, thus creating a hype. After the successful launch of Pergamano® Parchment Craft in The Netherlands, the craft has been introduced in more then 25 countries around the world. In 1997 Peter Venema took over the company and expanded it to an international level. He changed the company name into Pergamano International. The company is situated in Uithoorn.
